YES! This one natural healing food called bone broth does all the above!
First it's good to acknowledge where most of us are at right now. We live busier lives than ever and it's OK if right now you don't feel like the way you used to..
Here's why:
Every day our bodies and cells are bombarded and under attack from chemicals, free radicals and environmental toxins that were non existent years ago from processed high fat sugary foods, pollution, everyday household chemicals, sun exposure, ozone, and even stress.
Did you find some really convenient canned organic food that has been a part of your diet for years? You may have been exposed to heavy metals this whole time.
What about all of the plastics for water bottles and foods that we now know create cancer causing chemicals when they come into contact with light or even just storing contents inside? We've all gotten more than our fair share.
Sluggishness, fatigue, loss of vitality, chronic illnesses, hormone imbalances, achy joints, rapid aging, wrinkles, loss of skin elasticity, cellulite, even things like stress and depression; you name it and it probably has something to do with the foods and chemicals we're constantly in contact with.
Heal your body from the inside out rather than the outside in.
It's necessary to clean out and detox your body and give it a fresh start from the buildup of toxins in your system.
Most detoxes usually have to do with some kind of fasting to remove any of the offending elements that may be contributing to the buildup of toxins in your system. Notice fasting.. not starving! It doesn't have to be the same thing.
That is why bone broth is so fantastic for detoxing, because unlike water or juice fasting, you wont be left with gnawing hunger pangs. Most people surveyed would love to do some sort of detox fast or maybe have even tried one, but weren't able to follow through or didn't enjoy it because they were hungry the whole time. Not so with bone broth! Bone broth is very satiating, so even though it's almost all liquid, you may be surprised that you don't really feel hungry after you drink it. You may be surprised also that it can be quite delicious and doesn't have to be an unpleasant experience at all. In fact, many people look forward to having a bone broth cleanse every month!
Not only is bone broth full of natural collagen and protein that satiates your hunger, you are also getting wonderful hydration and a daily boost of nutritional support in the form of essential minerals not present in water or juices while staying very low calorie and essentially fat and sodium free. Plus bone broth has NO sugar that is unhealthy and leaves you hungry and crashing.
Sugar actually feeds the wrong bacteria in your digestive system which is also usually another huge factor in why so many of us are not feeling 100%.
Bone broth is sugar free, which literally starves the bad bacteria in your digestive system and gives you a true reset.
The skin-tightening collagen in bone broth not present in water alone or juices also creates a multitude of other effects like healing the lining of your digestive system, restoring your skin, hair and nails and even repairing achy joints.
It's also rich in antioxidants to help combat cellular damage, including glutathione, widely known as the "mother of antioxidants".
Bone broth is easy to digest, so it’s perfect for people with sensitive stomachs, or conditions like Celiac disease. Not only is it easily digested, but it will actually help to heal the gut.
Some estimates report that our entire body is made of up to 30% collagen! Its literally been called the "glue that holds our bodies together" and most of us are hardly getting any! No wonder most of us report feelings of feeling tired and broken down.. most of us literally are!
Bone broth is a 100% natural, tasty way that supercharges our bodies to heal from many ailments and is supported by impeccable scientific research conducted by leading researchers and doctors.
Its a superfood that many use to overcome illness and pain that allows us to focus on the things that really matter to us... like feeling good and being well.
AND bone broth has no unpleasant side effects.
If you're concerned about health, wellness and how you feel, including bone broth into your everyday diet could most likely be one of the most important decisions you could make.
If you've never tried it or are curious, perhaps start with a simple natural healing cleanse utilizing a 3 day bone broth detox. Then evaluate for yourself how you feel after and see if its something you're not totally excited to incorporate into your life as a habit. We bet it's something you will be excited about doing.
Are you ready to recapture youthful energy and looks and turn back the clock and start getting rid of the gunk that has been building up in your body and feel better than you have felt in years, maybe decades? Also remove toxins, balance your hormones, heal your body and be the best version of yourself; a more vibrant version of you that feels (and maybe even looks!) a decade or more younger?
Bone broth is essentially a delicious sippable liquid that's jam-packed full of healing and skin tightening collagen; has virtually zero unhealthy fats, carbs, sugars or sodium, is high in protein, and is very hydrating. As a bonus, all of that collagen will really work wonders for your digestive system, any wrinkles that are creeping up and add some shine to your hair and thickness to your nails!
Bone broth is slow simmered animal bones (usually beef or chicken) cooked for a very long period of time (24hrs+) to extract as much of the amino acids and minerals as possible. Bone broth can be cooked with or without vegetables depending on your taste and dietary preferences but the important part is always going to be the quality and sourcing of the bones that are used to cook the broth.
This is why not all bone broths are made the same. You would never want to just go to your nearest grocery store and pick up just any old bones from your butcher. That would be defeating the purpose of consuming bone broth in the first place.
It is important to use bones from free-range, organic grass fed animals that are no fed grain or GMO diets, as those will be the healthiest. What the animal eats and how it is raised will become part of the animal and you don't want to be inadvertently consuming any toxins or impurities that are found in most of the bones you'll find at your nearest supermarket.
A question that gets asked all the time is "Would I get decent results using grocery store bought bone broth?" The answer is a big NO.
Broth (often labelled “stock”) from the grocery store relies on high temperature, fast-cooking techniques, which result in a watered down, non-gelling liquid, so you’re missing out on the benefits of a gelatin-rich broth. A high gelatinous consistency is a sign of high quality bone broth as this is a visible sign of high collagen content.
In addition, unnatural additives (like MSG) and flavors are often added to bone broths found at grocery stores. If you’re interested in the healing properties of bone broth, you have to make it yourself or buy high quality bone broth.
You won’t get nearly the same results from store-bought broth due to the preservatives and fillers used to make it shelf stable- and the slow cook times used in large scale industrial manufacturing do not extract the vital collagen and nutrition that's needed to benefit you. Most importantly, the overwhelming majority of manufacturers of stock and broths do not make their broths with 100% grass-fed organic pasture raised animals.
Bone broths are versatile; you can drink them by themselves as a coffee replacement or sippable and savory warm drink by itself, or you can add your own spices, flavors seasonings, make a hot soup with it, or you can use them as a healthy base for some of your favorite meals. Any recipe that calls for water you can replace the water with bone broth. That's a really easy way to get a lot in!
Some of our favorite ways to consume bone broth is just to heat up an 8oz mug of it in the morning and at night and just sip it. It is so delicious and satisfying.
Most people consume anywhere from 1 to 5 eight oz cups of bone broth per day per person depending on where they are at with their health and what their health, wellness and beauty goals are. You can even give some to your pet if you have one! Or get the family healthier and drinking it too!
By consuming lots of bone broth (at least 5 to 6 eight oz cups per day for 3 days) and lots of water you're starving out the bad bacteria in your gut and removing parasites, since the bone broth doesn't have the type of nutrients they need to survive. Bone broth also has several different antioxidant properties, removing free radicals and slowing aging. Meanwhile, the main amino acid in bone broth is Glycine, which is exactly what your liver uses to detox your body
You're hard pressed to overdo bone broth (just monitor your sodium intake if you have high blood pressure) so you drink at least 5 to 6 eight oz cups per day for 3 days. If you can drink more than that, by all means do! If you need more hydration but either don't have enough bone broth or don't want to drink anymore bone broth, offset the bone broth with some cups of water.
At the end of your 3-day bone broth detox, start introducing clean healthy foods like organic vegetables and also be absolutely sure to include some fermented foods with probiotics to help out your healthy gut bacteria; this is crucial. Choose live foods if you can that state they have live cultures like certain yogurts, kefir, pickles, sauerkraut, kimchi and kombucha. This will help build up your digestive system and your immune system so you can really get the most from the food you eat.
Of course at the end of your bone broth detox, this is no time to lay off the bone broth; if it helped you get this far, keep drinking a minimum of cup or two a day to maintain your overall health.
Hopefully you feel so good you are naturally inspired to make this a new way of life and a lifestyle habit.

If you have the kitchen space and can spare a day or two of focus on making some really good, healthy bone broth, here is a great recipe you can follow:
You’ll also need a large stock pot to cook the broth in and a strainer to remove the pieces when it is done.
The first step in preparing to make broth is to gather high quality bones. Most people prefer beef, chicken or turkey- although you can use any bones you want, even fish. You can find them from sources listed above or save them when you cook.
Aim for 2 pounds of bones per gallon of water to make broth. This usually works out to 2-3 full chicken carcasses. If possible also add 2 chicken feet per gallon of water (completely optional! Some people like the gelatin they add but not the taste).
You’ll also need some organic vegetables for flavor. These are actually optional but add extra flavor and nutrition. Typically, add (per gallon of water and 2 pounds of bones):
Also add, per batch, a bunch of parsley from the garden.
If you are using raw bones, especially beef bones, it improves flavor to roast them in the oven first. Place them in a roasting pan and roast for 45 minutes at 350.
Then, place the bones in a large stock pot (use a 5 gallon pot). Pour (filtered) water over the bones and add the vinegar. Let sit for 20-30 minutes in the cool water. The acid helps make the nutrients in the bones more available.
Rough chop and add the vegetables (except the parsley and garlic, if using) to the pot. Add any salt, pepper, spices, or herbs, if using.
Now, bring the broth to a boil. Once it has reached a vigorous boil, reduce to a simmer and simmer until done. These are simmer times:
During the first few hours of simmering, you’ll need to remove the impurities that float to the surface. A frothy/foamy layer will form and it can be easily scooped off with a big spoon. Throw this part away. Grass-fed and healthy animals will produce much less of this than conventional animals.
During the last 30 minutes, add the garlic and parsley, if using.
Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Strain using a fine metal strainer to remove all the bits of bone and vegetable. When cool enough, store in a gallon size glass jar in the fridge for up to 5 days, or freeze for later use.
